Alice Notley's Descent of Alette: The First Mother

A conversation between the narrator and a headless woman, the "first mother," dominates Book 3 of Alice Notley's Descent of Alette. To showcase a short, "choral" piece I wrote in response to that interaction, I created this brief game which pulls directly from the text. This was also a chance for me to learn RPG Maker 2003 and mess around with making a poetry video game! 

So, a fun, dinky little experiment all around. The game opens with audio of Notley herself saying "One Day I Awoke" recorded onto a Sony TC-55 on October 30th, 2023.
